Empowering KwaNojoli: MEC Nonqubela Pieters engages with the community

Simanye V Javu-Jobela Communications Officer, 2025-10-07

*Empowering KwaNojoli: MEC Nonqubela Pieters Engages with the Community*

Yesterday, the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism (DEDEAT) MEC, Nonqubela Pieters, joined forces with key stakeholders, including the Agriculture, Gambling Board Eastern Cape, and Eastern Cape Liquor Board, for an informative session with the residents of KwaNojoli (Somerset East) about funding opportunities for SMMEs.

The session was a huge success, with enthusiastic community members and youth eager to learn about the available resources. MEC Pieters emphasized the importance of recycling and community responsibility in maintaining a clean environment. She also highlighted the department's accessible funding initiatives aimed at combating unemployment.

But that's not all! MEC Pieters brought a special gift to the community - 50 pairs of school shoes, school socks, and 200 sanitary towels for the William Oates Primary School in KwaNojoli.

*A big thank you to MEC Pieters and our partners for empowering our community!*

Let's work together to build a brighter future for KwaNojoli! ???? #BlueCraneMunicipality #KwaNojoli #SMME #FundingOpportunities #CommunityEmpowerment #Recycling #CleanEnvironment
